Description: Sledge Hockey will increase the proportion of the adult population (16+) participating in physical activity 3 times per week as recreation or sport.
Target: 20 New Adults participating in Sledge Hockey per annum
Approach:
• The implementation of the corporate marketing strategy
• Raising awareness of BSHA nationally with County Sport Partnerships and Community Sports Networks
• Promoting the Sledge Hockey in the education and tourism and leisure sectors nationally
• The development of partnerships with ice rinks, local authority parks, and commercial roller facilities to promote recreational participation.
• Building relationships with other National Governing Bodies, in particular those sharing facilities or who utilize similar coaching methodology
• Working with Project Battle Back to provide injured service people to participate in Sledge Hockey as part of the rehabilitation process.
• Work with the forces Ice Hockey teams to promote Sledge Hockey
• Work with partners such as EFDS, ESAPLD and HE institutions to maximise accessibility to Sledge Hockey for all abilities.

Description: Team GB to participate in the 2014 Winter Paralympic Games
Target: Team GB to obtain a top 6 finish at 2014 Winter Paralympic Games.
Approach:
• Increase the number of players nationally who classify to participate in IPC competitions
• Implement and maintain a Sledge Hockey specific Strength and Condition programme
• Implement, develop and review domestic competition programme
• Recruit and train a medical practitioner to provide classification and medical advice and support
• Team GB participation at appropriate International Competitions
• Target specific milestones in relation to pre-determined world rankings
• Implement a robust, competitive selection policy
• Implement a comprehensive support/medical programme

Description: To introduce a competitive domestic Ice and Inline Sledge Hockey leagues
Target: Competitive National Ice and Inline Sledge Hockey leagues comprising of at least four teams and taking place on an annual basis
Approach
• Ensure that viable teams exist by assisting clubs to sustain and grow their membership
• Develop league structure to minimise financial and logistical constraints
• Work with partners to provide suitable venues and resources
• Develop recognised officials
• Promote leagues and maximise publicity

Description: Launch a national junior (under 21) programme
Target: For 20% of Team GB senior team to be made of graduates from the junior programme
Approach
• Increase the number of junior players nationally
• Implement, develop and review domestic junior competition programme
• Junior team to participate in one international tournament per year
• Develop and publish a clear pathway
• Identify and target appropriate funding (e.g. TASS, Sports Aid)
• Develop programme to promote Sledge Hockey at schools in partnership with key partners
• Work with key partners to promote Sledge Hockey at events where disabled children participate (e.g. Wheelpower Junior Camps)

• Develop a club start-up support pack providing information and documents on how to start up a new Sledge Hockey club.

• Implement policy requiring all coaches to obtain the recognised BSHA Coaching qualification within a pre-determined timescale
