In order to measure the success it is clear that there need to be quantifiable outcomes and targets need defined which can be used to measure progress. These KPIs should be aligned to the meet one of the three aims; governance, participation and excellence.
Although not currently recognised by Sport England, the BSHA has adopted their world-leading community sport system to identify its KPIs. This system is built on three principals;
Grow: Helping people to access sledge hockey and increasing participation numbers.
Sustain: To sustain current levels of participation
Excel: To develop a world class programme delivering Paralympic medal success
Each KPI have a target, timeframe and a RAG status. The status of each KPI will be reviewed on a quarterly basis and will be defined as followed;
RED: Target or timescale will not be met without drastic intervention or has not been achieved
AMBER: Target and/or timescale will be missed by a margin of less than 10%
GREEN: Target and timescale has been or will be met.
